La Retribucion

I overheard a group of hispanics talking about the sudden uptick in ICE contact and deportations. The older guy was looking very distressed, and  I surmised that he was concerned about his personal immigration status.

Here is the deal.

Interim President #45 is seething with anger right now. His travel Ban has been questioned and is at this point, stalled in the courts, preventing him from seeing through his haphazardly crafted executive order. His blood must be absolutely boiling just beneath his thin skin.

Since he is being prevented from kicking muslims in their nuts, he has turned his short temper in the direction of a nearby target, and is lashing out, determined to kick the Mexican people in the teeth. If he can’t hurt the muslims, then he will arrest, deport, harass and terrorize as many illegal aliens as possible in the interim.

It’s another form of negotiation for him. What he is saying is:
“Give me the Muslims and perhaps I will let you keep your latinos.” (for now)
I expect that he is deadly serious, and things could escalate if he can’t have his way. He may even heat up the conflict between Black Lives Matter and Urban police, reigniting the fake news narrative about the “War on Police.”

Expect him to lash out in every direction until he wins this one thing that is sticking in his craw. He will not be able to let it go – as usual.

Zika: Heaven or Hell

Is the zika virus the signal of doom for mankind. Is this quickly mounting threat, posed by a simple predatory insect – a mosquito, destined to halt the millions of evolutionary years of homosapien as earth’s dominant species.
We’re still learning the full spectrum of this thing and while the CDC is quietly shouting the alarm, it is clear that we don’t yet know the full ramifications of microencephalitis, the brain disorder affecting children cradled in the womb of zika infected women. There is some evidence that the disease can also be transmitted ironically as an STD. Our most beloved charter to GOD’s plan, being fruitful and multiplying, the very act of insemination may have to be curtailed until we know more.
What if once bitten, a woman is scarred and carries the horrifying trace of the potential heartbreaking results for life. Perhaps future mates might also pass the horror on to her during the precious act of lovemaking. Will we have to get out in front of this thing by ordering mass sterilization, at least in the short and hopefully temporary term.
But that way leads to certain doom for homosapien-erectus – mankind. We may be forced to count on test tube procreation.

I realize the fatal tenor of these suppositions, but by my own narcissism am I overlooking another, less fatalistic outcome. Are we because of our very arrogance, failing to embrace another possibility?

Rome, they say was not built in a day and neither did the human genome arrive at it present splendour overnight. Homo-erectus was not always so high of brow, and while Rome ended as ash, the world around it has continued.

Suspend all belief, just for a moment and let us venture down a quick virtual alternative narrative. We must currently accept the idea that we have no real idea where the Zika Virus will ultimately take us. We have in the past beaten back the Plague and Ebola and while we are learning to live, at least for a while with HIV and Cancer – what of Zika. The long term effects of the resulting microencephalitis are largely unknown, because the pool of victims is yet somewhat small, and their fatality rate is uncertain. In fact their expected quality of life is truly not yet measured.

Now, I am rushing to the end, before ye of short attention span click onwards to less convoluted thought. Bottom line: humor me and suppose that the Zika mosquitos are a part of GOD’s plan (that’s twice that I have interjected a higher power into a theoretically scientific spiel). Suppose this virus that is pulling our attention away from the 24 hour Donald Trump news cycle is actually a nudge by mother nature herself, to push us away from our presumed perfect selves. Since the victims of Zika are falling to head trama and the brain is suffering…

I stopped there because we don’t really know they’re long term assessment, do we? It occurs to me that these children just may be something different – a mutation, joining us here on earth. Smaller heads? Perhaps nature has decided that either we were not using all of that addition brain power, or perhaps we will no longer be needing it. What if after all of these years of development, the species is about to enter a phase of being that will depend less on all of the heroic cranial gymnastics that we have come to admire. Perhaps their evolved brain function finds them able to communicate already, using a rudimentary but effective, nonverbal telepathy.

Scared you, huh?

 

Mr. Trump

Mr. Trump continues to whine about people that are not treating him fairly. It makes him sound weak and feckless, but his bravado is so loud that his supporters stand behind him in spite of the foolishness of his positions. Like the image of the fallen, he twists lies with the truth and his followers are riled up and prepared for battle against the weakest examples of American hopefuls.

Trump goes into the Bible Belt and takes on the facade of a believer and on his first attempt to thump the good book he could not get past the second verse. His followers forgave the transgression because they like his brash, politically incorrect attacks on the indigent communities that they consider to be consuming their own birthrights.

His complaints that people are not treating him fairly is laughable.If he had any of our founding document, he would know the word “FAIR” does not appear in the United States Constitution, and the word certainly does not darken the pages of that ever changing word buffet that governs the Republican National Committee.

Mr. Trump will most likely drag his adopted party down to a miserable Presidential defeat and take a nasty bite out of what few GOP congressional seats may be up for grabs. The Democrats need 30 in order to take over the majority.

The People -vrs- Apple

Its all starting to unravel, just as I said that it would. All of the back and forth concerning the encryption of the San Bernardino terrorist has been overblown hype. Apple has dug in on a position that makes no sense, due to the fact that someone will break the encryption with or without their help. For years there have been revisions to software and operating systems, breaches in security protocols, and updates to updates. This is the nature of technology. Hackers have jobs to do, too.

Knowing this, Apple was only putting on a PR Show, designed to make it appear that they’re customers could rest easy because the encryption was unbreakable even with the considerable pressure of the Federal Government. But for that pressure, in all likelihood, Apple would have sent down a security update as a plug to some unknown, unstated issue that their engineers would have discovered and eliminated the vulnerability. So even as the FBI is working to crack the code, Apple is working to make it a moving target -as they should be. Most likely the suspect phone is offline and frozen in the past, unable to receive any new updates.

It was never that the Feds couldn’t get in, they only wanted Apple to lower the bar, and inhibit the prohibition that limited the number of attempts to “guess” the password. No doubt they have located a hack that has found a way around that molehill, and they just need time to test it on a number of like products, because they’re potential guesses on the suspect phone have already peaked, and they dare not be wrong. If the next attempt wipes the phone, they will be forced to waterboard some Apple execs in order to recover from that mistake.

UPDATE
So now what?
The Feds are reporting that they have broken into the suspect phone and bypassed Apple’s encryption without their assistance – just as I said it would. Now that their much heralded security encryption has been embarrassingly hacked by outside forces, how does Apple convince their customers to trust the total security of their operating system.

In all likelihood Apple’s black ops engineers have been busy trying to crack their own encryption since day one. Whatever chinks they find in the armour will be quietly patched and updated through normal system updates with little to no fanfare.

Everything has changed except our way of thinking.

Chasing It’s Tail

The Republican Party is well known for its obstinate positions, in opposition to virtually every stage of societal evolution. They resist the idea of climate change, citizenship, gay marriage, smoking weed, universal health care, ect, etc, etc… It seems that whatever adult citizens want to do with their own lives is a problem for conservatives. We are all vested citizens –  protected by the Declaration of Independence.

READ THESE WORDS.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
Yet, modern day conservatives babel incessantly about the “framers, the founding fathers“, the Constitution and a strict interpretation of that document. The constitution is a follow up to the Declaration, and it demands that people tinker with it and adjust it to match their liking. We are commanded to alter or abolish it while conservatives keep trying to roll it back.
Here we stand at the eve of producing a standard bearer of the Republican Party message, and selecting a nominee to face the Democratic choice in November. They have in fact produced Donald Trump and he threatens to run away with their coveted medal. Their own conservative base of voters have braved inclement weather and marched single file into the poles to voice their opinion and knight Trump as the ONE.
The Republican Party bosses disagree. They have publicly denounced their front runner and expressed the intent to manipulate the outcome of their own nomination process. So not only do they refuse to allow progressives to be progressive, but now they refuse to let conservatives conserve.

 

Wanted Dead or Alive

Trump claims no responsibility for the sucker punching of the young man by a Trump supporter the other day. According to Trump the guy was shouting bad things and giving him the finger, therefore Trump may pay the punchers legal fees.

This effectively makes the puncher a paid assassin and puts a bounty on the head of anyone that dares to exercise their first amendment rights, in opposition to Trump – since Trump will pay per punch.

Donald Trump comes off like a 6 year old kid. When asked about the sucker punch, he whines about somebody saying bad things about him. Earlier when he had to face the bully, Megyn Kelly at a debate on the GOP’s flagship foil of a network, Trump decided that he would skip the appearance because FOX was not treating him fairly – which in his narrow little mind means that they would not ask him any questions that might make him look bad. He fights with girls. In his first meeting with Kelly, he ended up making vague statements about her “bleeding”, like the signifying monkey. Everyone knows that he was talking about her being on the rag, but when questioned about the reference, he pretended that he didn’t know what they were talking about. Against his opponent, Carly Fiorina he makes a crude statement about her face, implying that she is ugly. Of course when questioned about it, he slithered away with half answers and basically claims that he is just being bullied by the media.
Moving forward in the campaign, Trump plays the dozens with Jeb Bush. Even while partially nude pictures of his wife the model traverses the internet, he launches attacks on Bush for having to bring his mommy out to hawk for voter support. While he was on that note, he started shouting about former President George W. Bush being a liar and committing treasonable offenses in the Iraq theater of war.
He slaps Cruz around a bit and raises questions about his legal ability to hold the office of President, due to irregularities in his country of birth. “I don’t raise the question, he says. But many many people have asked me the question, and fear that if Cruz gets the nomination, then Hillary Clinton will use it against him. He makes noises that Ben Carson may have pediphile tendicies.  Again he says it and the walks it back, claiming that the media is once again putting words in his mouth.
When David Duke and the K gave Trump, he stood up in front of GOD and everybody and pretended that he didn’t know who Duke was, even though he abandoned his own run for presidential aspiration in the reform party, because Duke tossed his hat in the ring.
Now he claims that Bernie Sanders supporters are responsible for the violent confrontations between protestors and his in-house militia members. The tone of this election has been forever tarnished by Trump and his reactionary voters. For years they have voted against their own interests, hoping that the Republican Party would drive the indigent communities underground, and now Trump gives new hope to their dreams of rolling things back to the 40’s.

 

The Three Laws of Politics

 In 1942, science fiction writer Isaac Asimov introduced to the world, the concept of the 3 laws of Robotics. These laws rule the design of the positronic brain of robots in order to guarantee the safety of human beings in their interaction.
The specific rules are as stated:

• FIRST LAW: A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
• SECOND LAW: A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
• THIRD LAW: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws. At some point the 3 laws had to be adjusted to accommodate what is known as the Zeroth law, that adds
  ZERO LAW:  A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.

If only our Leaders and Politicians had to adhere to a set of laws that follow these principals and guidelines. Robots must follow their rules because the rules are programmed into their positronic brains and if they fail to do so, it will cause their neural-network to shut down and for them to become inactive. Our leaders can’t be programmed and have only their conscious to guide them and their actions.
     So the crowded field of Republican hopefuls stand up in front of GOD and everybody and virtually race each other towards hell as they all but boast about their intentions to kill the families of terrorists in revenge fueled rage.
 Strike the first law and it’s prohibition against harming human beings from the list.
    In their desire to control the power of the nomination process, the elite Republican establishment has rolled out their old guard – Mitt Romney, the Bushes, John McCain and every pompous, long winded elected official with an income to protect. They have outwardly pledged to defeat Donald Trump and quietly put a target on the head of Ted Cruz, hoping to broker their convention and hand their coveted crown to one of their good old boys, despite the people’s overbearing effort to coronate their own potentially misguided and lethal choices.
     Strike the second law and it’s admonition that they must obey the orders of human beings, as long as those orders do not conflict with the first law.
     And here the very soul of the GOP has fallen into disfavor with the the future, as it threatens to destroy it’s own fraternity, either through arrogant, antagonistic actions or inert, passive inaction in violation of Asimov’s third law to protect its own existence.
 And what of the Zeroth Amendment to the three laws? The one that places the salvation of humanity and its deliverance unto the far side of the next election cycle. Is there any chance that a return to a modicum of civility is possible as we traverse the remainder of the primary process and arrive finally at the Presidential Election.
For those of us that have read Asimov’s Foundation series, we understand the predicament that we find ourselves in, with the civilization potentially in decline. We can fall back on the knowledge that while we don’t know by what name he may be using at this point in psychohistory, but rest assured that R. Daneel Olivaw. already has matters well under his purview.

The K Has Spoken

Since you have pulse, you may already know that David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the K, has endorsed Donald Trump and told his supremacy groups that “voting for anybody besides Donald Trump at this point, is really treason to your heritage...” When asked about the controversial endorsement this morning, Trump claimed that he does not know who David Duke is, and refused to rebuke the endorsement until he had time to research Duke and his constituency.
I guess you would have to be Jewish, Muslim, Black or Latino to know who David Duke is or what he represents.
